We recommend washing your Mooncup® Reusable Period Pants as soon as possible after wearing them. Here’s how to wash your Mooncup® Reusable Period Pants:

1. Give your Mooncup® Reusable Period Pants a quick rinse with cold water to remove an excess fluid.
2. Wash either by hand or in a washing machine under 40 degrees celsius.
3. Dry on a flat surface.

Please note: do not use fabric conditioner, bleaching agents or a tumble dryer as this affects the absorbency of the core.

Of course! We recommend trying a size up to make sure you feel comfortable. Mooncup® Reusable Period Pants absorb up to 10 tampons worth of fluid and can be worn for up to 10 hours, so you won’t have to worry about constantly changing a pad. With postpartum bleeding, you may find you pass more clots so depending on your flow we advise disposing of some larger ones with a tissue if you spot any.

Your period may have a slight odour and that’s completely normal, however organic cotton is naturally odour wicking which will prevent any rogue smells. Generally, period smells aren’t noticeable to others and good hygiene habits and using breathable period care should help combat any odours and help make you feel more comfortable during menstruation. 

If it’s strong enough to be noticed through your pants or period care, chances are you’ve experienced a leak or overfilled. If this isn’t the case and the smell is still noticeable, you may be dealing with an infection (especially if you have other symptoms like vaginal discharge or pelvic pain) and you should make an appointment with your doctor to get things checked out. 

Remember: you don’t need to use any products with perfumes or fragrances. These extra ingredients play havoc with your vagina’s delicate pH level and cause infections like thrush to thrive.
