organic cotton tampons

Why we have cardboard tampon applicators

When it comes to period care, most of us are creatures of habit — grabbing the same tampons off the supermarket shelf without much thought. But here’s the thing: many mainstream tampons and applicators are packed with plastic, synthetic fibres, and chemicals that aren’t just bad for the planet — they’re not ideal for your vagina either.

Thankfully, there’s a better option. Our eco-app tampons are made with 100% organic cotton and a smooth, biodegradable cardboard applicator — good for your body and the environment.

Plastic vs. Cardboard Applicators: What’s the Difference?

If you’ve ever used a tampon with a plastic applicator (which is most of us), you’ll know they’re often sold as more “comfortable” or “easy to use.” But behind that pearl-like sheen is single-use plastic — which, as we now know, doesn’t disappear. It lingers in landfills, in oceans, and yes, sometimes washes up on beaches.

Cardboard applicators offer a gentler alternative:

  • Smooth, tapered design for easy insertion

  • Fully biodegradable and compostable

  • No compromise on comfort

  • Way less impact on the planet

Why Our Eco-App Tampons Are Different

Lots of mainstream tampons still contain hidden plastic and synthetic materials inside the tampon itself — not just the applicator. Our eco-app tampons are different.

  • Applicator: Made from biodegradable cardboard

  • Tampon: Made from 100% organic cotton — no perfumes, dyes or plastic

  • Packaging: Plastic-free and recyclable

That’s it. No mystery ingredients. Just period care that respects your body and the planet.

How to Use Our Eco-App Tampons

New to cardboard applicators? Don’t worry — it might feel a bit different at first, but with a little practice, it becomes second nature.

Here’s a simple guide:

  1. Choose your absorbency — Always use the lowest absorbency for your flow. (Most people start with higher absorbency on the first 1–2 days, then switch.)

  2. Get comfortable — Try standing with one leg raised (on the toilet or bath), or sit on the loo. Relax your muscles.

  3. Hold the applicator — Grip the ridged area near the base.

  4. Twist and push - Twist the inner tube to “unlock”.
  5. Insert at an angle — Aim up and slightly towards your lower back. Gently insert, then push the inner tube up to release the tampon. You may feel a little resistance due to the cardboard – this is normal.

  6. Remove the applicator — Dispose of it responsibly, wash your hands, and you’re good to go.

One Small Switch, Big Impact

We believe your period products should work for you — not against your body or the planet. Making the switch to organic, plastic-free tampons is one of the simplest, most impactful swaps you can make.

Your vagina deserves better. So does the Earth.
