Best period care for skiing holiday

We all know the feeling of dread when we get our periods on holiday. Can I find the right products? What if I start my period on the slopes? Skiing with a period doesn't have to be a nightmare. In this post, we'll explore the best period products for a skiing holiday.

Let’s go through all the options...

Pads

Period pads are a great option if you're looking for something simple and reliable. They can be easily slipped into your ski pants or snowboard pants, and they'll stay in place no matter how much you move around. Just be sure to change them regularly to avoid any leaks.

Tampons

You may also want to consider tampons if you're concerned about leaks. They can be inserted before you put on your ski pants, and you can simply change them when you take a break. Just be sure to pack some spare tampons in your backpack if you need to change them more often than you thought.

Menstrual cups

Many people are switching to sustainable period care by using reusable period cups. They're inserted like a tampon but collect your period blood instead of absorbing it. This means they can be left in for longer, and you don't have to worry about leaks.

Period underwear

Following the sustainability trend, period pants are also becoming a preferred option. They look and feel like regular underwear, but they have a special absorbent layer that helps to keep your period blood from leaking out. It’s possible to wear them for up to 10 hours without having to change them.

Why period pants are the best option for skiing

When it comes to skiing holidays, there are a few things you need to consider – the best slopes, the best equipment and, of course, the best period products.

Tampons and pads are great options. However, you’ll need to pack quite a few packets to make sure you don’t run out during your trip. This can take up a lot of luggage space, especially if you are packing light - you'll need all the room you can get.

Period pants are the best choice for skiing for several reasons. First, they're absorbent, so you don't have to worry about leaks. Second, they're comfortable to wear all day. Third, you don't have to pack as many extras in your backpack, and finally, you can wear them for up to 10 hours without having to change.

Here’s what Emily Cohen had to say about her Period Pants… "My period pants felt a dream to wear whilst on my latest trip to The Alps, so comfortable, felt breathable & I no longer had to worry about when our next pitstop was or any other face-flushing circumstances as they last all day!"

Having a period while travelling

When you’re enjoying a wintery slope or taking a relaxing tropical break, you’re probably thinking about ensuring that your period is as carefree as possible.

The key to managing your period whilst on holiday is thinking ahead and planning ahead – we know this may not be your ideal situation given the circumstances, but here are some considerations to help ease your next holiday.

Planning ahead

Planning can make a huge difference when it comes to managing your period whilst on any holiday. If you’ve just ended your cycle, then chances are that you won’t need any period care on the trip. If your cycle is due to begin during your holiday, you will know to pack enough period care to last the trip.

Consider the best period care for your holiday

Planning a lot of swimming or snorkelling? Pads aren't going to work. You’ll need to consider packing tampons or a menstrual cup, depending on which you are more comfortable with. For skiing holidays, climbing or trekking, you might consider using period pants, as they are 4x more absorbent than tampons, especially if there won’t be toilets or restrooms nearby.

The truth is, skiing trips are a lot of fun. If this is your first time going skiing, then you are sure to have a great experience. You’ll be spending a lot of time high in the mountains, so soak up the freshness and don’t let your periods put a dampener on your skiing getaway.

Remember, you can always count on your Period Pants to make your skiing trip a breeze.

Ski ya later
