Because birth isn't where the care stops.

From your first period to postpartum and everything that comes after, what your body needs doesn't stay the same. So why should your period care?

For over 20 years, we've been making products that work with your body, not against it. And the fourth trimester is no exception.

Every body. Every stage.

From first periods to postpartum recovery, we're here for the moments your body needs something different.

Made for what comes next.

Postpartum bleeding isn't a period. That's why we've created protection specifically for the weeks after birth.

Soft where it matters.

Thoughtfully chosen materials, gentle on sensitive skin, with no unnecessary fragrances, dyes or SAPs in our pads.

THAT BIT WHEN YOU'RE BOTH IN NAPPIES.

Nobody really tells you about this part.

Super Absorbent Polymers (SAPs) are petroleum-based plastics commonly used in mainstream pads to lock away moisture. They're not biodegradable, and they're not something we wanted in ours.

Especially when you're wearing pads day and night during postpartum recovery.

So we left them out.

Instead, we've chosen a soft, 100% organic cotton topsheet and cellulose core.

No SAPs. No synthetic fragrances. No dyes.

Because what touches your skin matters, too.

Your skin's been through enough.

Postpartum Pads and Pants Bundle

What’s included in the Postpartum Pads and Pants Bundle?

The Postpartum Pads and Pants Bundle brings together four Mooncup essentials to support your body through the fourth trimester and beyond:

  • Postpartum Pads: Extra-long, heavy-flow protection for bleeding after birth.
  • High Waist Period Pants: Comfortable, reusable protection for when your periods return.

From postpartum bleeding to lighter days and everything that comes next, we've got your pants covered.

Can I swap for a different product?

No, we've designed this bundle to have everything you need.

Is this bundle suitable for first-time mums?

Absolutely! Whether it's your first baby or your fifth, the Postpartum Pads and Pants Bundle is designed to support you through postpartum recovery.

From heavier bleeding in the first days after birth to lighter bleeding, spotting and the eventual return of your period, we've brought together four essentials to see you through.

Because every birth is different, but everyone deserves a little care for the fourth.

How much do I save with the Postpartum Pads and Pants Bundle?

You'll save 24% (£5.95) compared to buying both products separately!

Worth £24.95, this bundle is yours for just £19. Two postpartum essentials, one less thing to think about.

Mooncup Postpartum Pads

What are postpartum pads?

Postpartum pads are designed specifically for the heavier, less predictable bleeding that happens after giving birth. Unlike regular period pads, Mooncup Postpartum Pads are extra-long and wide, with heavy-flow absorbency and secure wings for added protection while your body recovers.

What is lochia, and how long does postpartum bleeding last?

Lochia is the bleeding and discharge you experience after giving birth. It's your body's way of shedding blood, mucus and tissue as your uterus recovers.

It's usually heaviest in the first few days, gradually becoming lighter over the following weeks. Postpartum bleeding commonly lasts around four to six weeks, although everyone's recovery is different.

Can I use Mooncup Postpartum Pads after a C-section?

Absolutely. Postpartum bleeding happens after both vaginal and caesarean births, so you'll still need protection even if you haven't given birth vaginally.

Our Postpartum Pads are designed for every kind of birth, with a soft organic cotton topsheet that's gentle on sensitive, recovering skin.

Why can't I just use regular period pads after giving birth?

Regular period pads aren't designed for the heavier bleeding you may experience after birth.

Mooncup Postpartum Pads offer extra length, width and heavy-flow absorbency, with wings that stay put. Because the last thing you need is a pad that needs constant adjusting.

How often should I change my postpartum pad?

Change your pad regularly, particularly during the first few days when bleeding is often heavier. As a general guide, aim to change it every three to four hours, or sooner if needed.

If you're soaking through a pad in an hour, passing very large clots or feeling faint or unwell, seek urgent medical advice.

How many postpartum pads should I pack in my hospital bag?

It's worth packing at least two packs of postpartum pads for those first days after birth, when bleeding is often at its heaviest.

You may go through quite a few initially, so having some extras waiting at home isn't a bad idea either. One less thing to think about when you've got a newborn in your arms.

How do I dispose of my Mooncup Postpartum Pads?

You can dispose of Mooncup Postpartum Pads in your regular waste bin. Unlike mainstream pads, they won’t linger in landfill for centuries. Our Postpartum Pads break down within one year, even in landfill conditions.

This has been verified through testing based on ASTM D5511. Biodegradation rates may vary depending on disposal location and environmental conditions.

What is the fourth trimester?

The fourth trimester is the first 12 weeks after giving birth. A time of sleepless nights, endless feeds and getting to know your baby, all while your own body is recovering.

There's a lot of preparation for bringing a baby into the world. But considerably less conversation about what happens to the person who's just given birth.

That's why we're here to Care for the Fourth. Because postpartum recovery deserves just as much thought as everything that comes before it.

And that includes what goes in your pants.

Do Mooncup Postpartum Pads contain Super Absorbent Polymers?

Our Postpartum Pads are free from Super Absorbent Polymers (SAPs), the petroleum-based plastics commonly used in conventional pads.

Instead, we've focused on breathable materials and heavy-flow protection without relying on SAPs. They're also free from synthetic fragrances and dyes.

What are Mooncup Postpartum Pads made from?

Mooncup Postpartum Pads are made with a 100% organic cotton topsheet and a cellulose absorbent core. That means no fragrances, no dyes, no petroleum plastics - just what works.

Here’s what’s in our Postpartum Pads:

  • Topsheet: 100% GOTS certified organic cotton
  • Absorbent core: cellulose
  • Leakproof back sheet: cornstarch
  • Adhesive: non-toxic, latex free and rosin free
  • Waxed release paper
  • Tissue wrapper

Are Mooncup Postpartum Pads suitable for sensitive skin?

Yes. We've designed them with a soft, 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton topsheet that's gentle on tender, healing skin.

No SAPs, synthetic fragrances or dyes. Just breathable protection, without the unnecessary extras.

Are Mooncup Postpartum Pads vegan and cruelty free?

Yes! Mooncup Postpartum Pads are vegan, cruelty-free, and free from animal-derived materials.

What do you mean by 'plastic-free'?

When we say plastic-free, we mean free from petroleum-based plastics like PE or PP.

In our pads and liners we use a plant-based biopolymer made from cornstarch (PLA), which is compostable and biodegradable (certified to EN 13432 and ASTM standards), non-toxic in both production and end of life, and completely biobased.

While PLA is technically a polymer, it is not petroleum-derived and is accepted under leading ecological standards such as GOTS.

We clearly disclose its use and independently validate all our claims to ensure transparency and compliance with the most rigorous sustainability standards.
